WinKFP Startup Error

I've got Windows XP running on a VirtualBox VM, and have downloaded BMW Standard Tools and SPDatens 60.1 from Bimmergeeks.net. I followed their installation instructions, and INPA and ECSExpert both start up, but I always get an initialization error message when trying to open WinKFP (see attached). Any guidance on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you did not update WinKFP by importing the files with BMW Coding Tool. Or, you're not connected to the car while trying to open WinKFP.

That was my problem - not updating WinKFP with BMW coding tool. Thanks for helping out a beginner!

Beginner NCSExpert (not WinKFP) question now:

When trying to load profile, various NCSExpert tutorials show "Default profile", "EXPERT MAN", "Revtor's NCS Expert profile", or "Expertenmodus" as options.

Most recommend loading Revtor's profile. However, my version only shows "Manipulation" and "Factory coding" as profile options. Do I need to find and download "Revtor's" profile, or will "Manipulation" work?

Profiles can be called whatever, it's the settings behind them that make them work.

Manipulation = Changing standard coding features (setting active or not active)
Factory Coding = Resetting it to factory settings based on VO

I have this problem where my BMW apps work but the WinkKFP dont, it opens but it gives me an error right away saying that it doesn't find the files to operate, can someone please help me I don't know much on how to fic this.

You need it update winkfp datens. Google how to update winkfp datens and you’ll find step by step instructions

ok and for the SP-Daten, do I have to get the one for my car since I have a 2008 BMW 328i e93, because I'm trying to do the 328i tune to the 330i tune and I just need the winkkfp to work and also where do I get the E93 SP-Daten for me?

Make sure you make backups of your cars original state.

Is there a reason to run this in a virtual box.
