New M2 owner

I finally took possession of my 2018 M2 last night. Mineral gray, and it's a great color. Manual, exec package. Very excited.

Then I dropped it off at my detailer this morning to get CeramPro put on it. So I had it for about 12 hours and now it's in his hands for 4 days....

Really enjoyed driving it though. Bonus is my wife didn't absolutely hate it, unlike my old 2012 135i (Dinan stage 2...) which she detested driving.

Congratulations on the M2! It is an awesome colour. I was having trouble deciding between LBB and MG.

Kudos for Manual!

"Very excited", is that an option code?

It's on the wish list. But buying the M2 had a profound affect on my bank account.

Should be ready for upgrades soon haha!

I was on the hunt for a 18 MG manual. Only 1 on the ground in the East coast. BMW Townson. Too far of a drive for me.

There are some incoming builds, but I didnt want to wait.

So ended up buying a 17 MG manual.

Beautiful! We'll probably end up going LBB, but I could just as easily go MG - it just works on this car. And I know everyone and their dog has been yanking out the grills on these and going all black, but looking at your photo...the way the chrome sets off the black against the grey, and creates that strong contrast between the two colors and surfaces...I think I just decided to stick with the stock grills. Great photo, that's a keeper for the personal photo library. And congrats to the OP as well! Heck, congrats to everyone that has the means to consider one of these gems.

agree here.. save your money... contrast is a good thing .. I definitely prefer the OEM grille on dark colors. nothing wrong with amber reflectors on a dark car either.

I agree about the grille - I only love the black grille surround on MG; it does nothing for me on the other three colors.

I do hate the amber reflectors but haven't replaced mine (yet?) because:

A) I'm lazy.
B) I sure as hell can't see the damn things while I'm barreling down the road at warp speed.

That photo looks sweet! Congrats!

I ordered the MG, DCT, with moonroof. I figure that being they didn't offer the moonroof for the first two years, and most of the '18s don't seem to have that option, it'll set mine apart from the crowd. I also like having the ability to open up the roof to fresh air, light and the sound of that engine!

I also threw in an illuminated door sill, the LED door logo projectors and metal pedals...

Just heard that they FINALLY started to build my car this past Monday! I ordered it back in mid December!

I am SO jealous of you! May have to go back to Turo, and rent the M2 I previously rented for two days, for two more days to get my fix!

Thanks all! Can't wait to get the car back...and drive it. That short time I had it, it was outstanding...

It's interesting; I was thinking of changing the grilles out to black as I had the black on my old 135i (which was black). Looked great on that car. But the stock grilles look really good on the mineral gray metallic; the contrast is pretty nice.

I think the black grille looks extra mean on MG, if you like a mean looking car.
