Wiper fluid to the windshield and other niggly stuff
My wife bought a 2018 X1. Cute little thing. Drives great and is fun little car for the few times I've taken it out. One thing I noticed that I wanted to compare with the community is the windshield fluid velocity and coverage.
Being in Canada with lots of snow, mud, salt and other road crud, the windshield is always dirty. Fluid just barely squirts out a does a pretty poor job of coverage. And forget about at high speed. Our last two cars, 328xi and 335xi, were great. How is your windshield fluid system? Getting the job done for you or not. Thanks.

yeah I have to agree with you the wipers and fluids system sucks big time especially at highway speed and you can not lift the wipers up to clean the windshield I think that a bad design too.

If the nozzles are correctly adjusted should be fine - we don't get Canadian snow here, but tonnes of salt put on the roads at the slightest sign of frost, so windscreen needs cleaning all the time.
Have a look in the manual to set the wipers to cleaning position: you can lift them up then. |

Thanks for the feedback. Seems pretty unanimous. Not great, which is what I was afraid of. Lets see if the dealer has a magic trick to coax more umph out of the nozzles.

The wipers and nozzles have been working great in my wife's 2016 X1 here in Vancouver (which I drive on weekends). The fluid coverage is a nice, even fan and the wipers function quietly and clear the rain, dirt, snow just fine. Working better than in my 2013 335i... maybe we just got super lucky.
