I never heard this till recently, but my dealer said on brand new chassis models the EPA does some sort of hold on the car for whatever reasons. I don't know if anyone could shed more light on this.
Mine is arriving in NJ tomorrow so I presume mine will be subject as well. |

Shit mine was held from April till Oct due to the EPA issues which was also the problem with the GTR's.

I doubt it. Mine's still sitting at port since 2/7.
That one pictured is the first edition (https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/maga...t-edition.html) and probably going to the auto shows. Several dealers in US also received their M5 but it was strictly for the auto shows only and not for showroom/HEA/for customers. I'm told they will be going back to the port after the shows until the official debut date. |

Unfortunately, no one knows. I emailed various BMW execs from marketing and sales but I'm told nothing has been released from HQ.
The only known time frame documented is "Spring 2018" but that can be anywhere from now to April. They say July is when the M Performance package will be released so definitely before July. |

I found out that the one listed in the auto trader was finished with production on 2/9 according to bimmer.work Hence the April delivery makes sense.
A lot of other HEA cars were complete in early January (including mine) so maybe we hope for March. We can only hope... |

For what it's worth, my dealer called the guy that runs the port for BMW here on the west coast and was told first or second week of March the cars will be released.
