Stock Offset and New Offset

Right now my stock setup is 205/55R 16x7 31mm offset. According to what I’ve read BMW wheel style 268 is 31mm. I was thinking about a 225/45 17x8 with an offset difference of 1-2mm from stock. I was just wondering if this will pose any problems at all in any areas. The weather is changing up sooner than expected and want to ditch the winter set up. Thanks.

1-2 mm is not going to make a difference, unless you much wider than the 225 width you're contemplating. You will be fine.
