Can you embed album art images in FLAC files? I have all my music ripped to FLAC at home, but re-encoded to m4a with embedded album artwork for use in the car using dbPoweramp Batch Converter, mainly to save space and get the album art on the iDrive...

Hi mate, I just got my X1. Can you please advise on music? I don't have a HDD in car so thinking of using the usb in the center console. Will it play mp3 and display the album art embeded in the mp3 files? Or do I have to convert my music? many thanks

I only listen to music that I have loaded on a USB flash drive in my 2018 X1. The embedded album art displays, or you can just have folder.jpg in each album folder.

The USB socket under the armrest is not ideal with the drive sticking out, so I have a really small drive to avoid accidentally hitting it and damaging the drive and socket.

I tried today simple mp3s with album art from usb and it shows on displey.
Had no luck with playing any video files, mp4, avi, mov...
All I got was mp4 giving sound but no picture. I think Im asking too much of my car even though it was coded today to enable dvd in motion
