Should I trade my M2 for a Porsche Cayenne Turbo ?

hey guys

i currently am a happy owner of an M2 and a soon to arrive fully loaded cayenne S.

i use my M2 to go to the track every once in while since its a 4 hours drive from where i live. ive been driving my M2 for the past year and have to admit that for my country's roads its not a very comfy daily driver.

so ive been thinking if i should trade in the M2 to go for the higher end cayenne turbo

i know this an M2 forum but what better place to ask than here

If you're looking for a better family car with a luxury interior and some decent accelerations on the highway, yeah I'd suggest upgrading

Assuming you need the Cayenne for the family, will you really be going that fast in it? My wife freaks out in the M2 so I won't take her in it anymore.

My point being, keep the M2 for fun and use the Cayenne S for family / hauling duties. We have an X5 also and it's the perfect compliment to the M2.

Never liked the cayenne, which is why we got the x5. I hate the center consol... but ur option of trading in to upgrade to a Porsche Cayenne turbo... I’d probably do that.

And that's a bingo. SeanWRT is right, if you're here asking, you are already leaning that way so yes you probably should. If the M2 isn't comfortable for your location and situation, get something that is. Life is short, these are just cars, get something you'll be happy in.

Macan Turbo makes more sense from M2 if we're talking Porsche SUVs.

If you're even considering trading the M2 in for a lux SUV then, yes, you should do it and let someone else get your M2 who will hopefully be able to fully appreciate it.

Sorry to hear your roads are so bad - we may have cheap gas here in the US but our roads are often really crappy. :

Thank you all for your replies

I do love driving my M2 specially on the track, butfor the past 5 years ive always owned an suv and a small fast car and ive noticed that in many occasions when i go out in my small car i would start praying that the tyre or rings dont get bent and when i drive the suv i would wish it was fast or some exhaust note

Ive seen a couple of videos on youtube showing the new and previous cayenne turbo on the track and how it performs but i feel like its just marketing, even though the cayenne drifting sideways is awesome

If the cayenne turbo can really be used in the track then that would be a go ahead to me

IMO: Alfa Stelvio Quad, X5M, X3 M40 and then Macan S. Probably in that order.

Maybe.

Yes do it, but then you will rule out track days since most clubs don't permit SUVs on track.

Are you taking about trading your used M2 (57k) for a new Cayenne Turbo ($124k) or a used Cayenne Turbo ($90 to $120k).?????

If you have that kind of money, keep the M2 and get the Porsche also!

"Beast" of both worlds.

If you have to ask then yes? But why not consider an M3 as an in between car?

I have the budget for a new loaded cayenne S not for a turbo, to get the turbo i have to trade in the M2 on top of my budget

And regarding SUVs on the track, im pretty sure they allow it, ive seen jeep cherokee srt8 and a GLE63s on the track once

If you can afford to keep the Cayenne S and the M2, I think you will be better served by both than trying to make the Cayenne Turbo fill both pairs of shoes.

Just my $.02

I say keep the M2 and get an Jeep SRT8 or a Trackhawk.

My father in law just got the SRT8 and Jeep did an amazing job all around with that SUV.

I have a Cayenne diesel and it’s a lovely car,I’m sure the turbo would be a weapon!!
Go for it if that’s what you fancy,I’ve also got an M2 but Cayenne all day long for a daily driver.

No comparison between M2 and Cayenne but I will give you my feedback on Cayenne S.
Couple of weeks ago I took my friend's new Cayenne S Hybrid (3k miles) for hours of drive to upstate New York in mountains.
-it was v floaty but in sport plus mode it felt like a small car...pretty fast too. On hard pulls it responded really good...good fun on highway.
Turbo will def be faster, of course !!!

-steering was v v numb, even in sport plus. That was no fun for me. Completely disliked.

-Comfort was not good. I don't know the package on the car but seats were very hard even with v high quality Leather. My lady friend (who owns it) sitting on back seats didn't like the rear comfort. I tried the back seats just to be sure, it was indeed uncomfortable for this kind of SUV.

I would suggest you to take a good test drive before buying it.

If you get a chance, check out X3M40i(I drove one )....I loved that Car, steering is way better than cayenne...drives like a car, less body roll...more comfortable Than Cayenne. Perf exhaust sounds amazing.
Good luck.

You could also look into one of these bad boys.....

https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-models/x6-m.html

This thing is very fast for a SUV.
