I am experiencing wind noise around the door mirrors. Over the last few cars I have owned I have found that applying a thin bead of silicon rubber to the joint between the mirror frame and the coloured shell reduces buffeting wind noise. What remains is just the woosh of sticking a large object into the slipstream. This is far more tolerable because it is a constant pitch.

Last week I did the same on the G30. It's too early to be certain but subjectively it is quieter.

There are really too many variables to take decibel readings eg vehicle speed, wind speed and direction, proximity of other vehicles, positioning of sound meter, internal noise etc but you can try cheaply with great apps on a smartphone.

Anyway, if it makes me feel better them I'm happy and it's a half hour job and can easily be reversed. It's also invisible if you use black silicon!

I also notice that at the underside of the mirror frame is a small spoiler which presumably is BMW's attempt to solve the problem. Trouble is that it's the joint that is the issue disturbing the airflow which makes some of the noise and no manufacturer is going to overcome the need to switch mirror caps for marketing purposes with an aerodynamic fix costing time on a production line

Thanks for tips , I have noticed that too . It was advertised and touted by many reviewers that G30s were too quiet but in reality I'm afraid they are not

Quite obtrusive a noise, I feel. Very annoying given general quiet of the cabin.

I must say my 2018 540i M Sport is almost silent at speeds up to 100 MPH.

Mine only gets noticeable above 80mph. Which of course your honour, I myself have never experienced
