Opinions on stud conversion or new bolts for everyday driver
New to the forum, but have had my 328xi for 4 years. Finally got around to an upgrade that I've been putting off...Pulled the trigger a set of Apex Arc-8. Went all in on new tires and sensors in the recent group buy.
Are the stud conversions worth the additional $75 and make life a little easier, look cooler etc.. or would you just go with the bolts and have piece of mind of no backing out threads, no threads to keep clean? I use the car as my everyday driver.. I don't track the car and now that I have dedicated snows on the stocks and new summer wheels, I will be changing over twice per year. thanks B |

I have see a lot of issues with studs stemming from improper installation. They also may have a shorter service life. I would consider staying with stock.

I like this tread because i got a lot of problem with my bolt
When i was doing HDPE event 2 times per day my front wheel was loosing. I bought new oem bolt and i got same problem. i torque it and i return to the track lol I do a conversion stud from ECS no problem anymore BUT when i drive my car with 275 NT01 2 stud broke at rear and i'm lucky i dont lose my wheel but almost. In the winter i bought ARC-8 Apex 17x9.5 with the stud conversion an apex said me they where build for the track... But the ECS i'm not really sure... |
