I ordered my first new car in 25 years

The last one was a 1993 Nissan Micra K11.

The latest is a BMW 520d xDrive SE Touring. Mediterranean Blue, Canberra Beige leather, Fineline wood trim. I optioned it up by about £6k with heated rear seats and wheel, HUD, tow hitch, privacy glass, Apple prep, extra 12V, 18” and runflats, Comfort pack, fogs.

I decided against posh headlights, rear wheel steering and driver intervention stuff. And the WiFi ... and the enhanced Bluetooth. I thought hard about the rear entertainment (my son loves it on the outgoing Range Rover Vogue),* but the whole gig is easier with iPads, less likely to induce sickness, and less likely to take damage from a load.

1200 Scheduled for Production on 11 Apr. Delivery either Week 21 or 22. Dealer is Listers, Boston, Lincolnshire via Carwow.

*Yes, unlike every other person, I am going from an SUV to a 4WD Touring (rather than the other way around), because the Beamer just make more sense now I am not gigging an amateur rock band.

It makes sense you didn't pay n extra for the items that you would rarely use or no use at all

Hah. There have been a few used cars in the interim. I am moving from a 2008 Range Rover Vogue to the BMW.

True, dat. But I am calling the dealer in the morning to add Harmon Kardon. Its expensive, but I have it on the Range Rover, and this is the last chance to alter the build.

I added Harman Kardon to my build.. worth the coin.. stock system is garbage and the B&W system is overpriced in my opinion.

A stage 1 bav sound upgrade can always be done later to your hk system should you want more sound and it's plug and play.

Good call on your addition

Agreed - the HK system is a good upgrade and (in my view) worth the money
