Tar on Car: Update

So they were paving the road right beside where my car was parked today. The one side of my car has little tar specs all over it.

Is using Dawn dish soap to wash, then cleaning with WD40 after the best way to get it off?

Any advice appreciated:

Dish soap will remove all the sealant/wax and other paint protection you have on.

I suggest CarPro Tar X

I am pretty sure using dish soap to remove paint protection has been highly debunked.

Use paint thinner to dissolve tar. DON'T RUB...just dab it on with a well soaked cloth. Let the solvent really wet the tar. It will lift it off very nicely with a soft cloth. Then was with Dawn or Maquires car soap and re-polish and wax.

I'm going with car pro Tar X. My next issue is what do I use on my clear bra because apparently the Tar X may hurt it, even though my installer says it's ok..

I read that, but then I just went to XPel's website and it says to definitely use bug and tar removers... hmm

The Xpel Ultimate says you can use Lacquer thinner on it... see attached.

Update: I used the Tar X and it's a miracle product. Didn't hurt any trim, and was safe on the clear bra.

Tarminator works as well as Tar X but isn't as runny.
