Melbourne Red vs. Sunset Orange
I really want to like SO, mostly because I wanted MG....um, yeah. I went to my friendly neighborhood BMW dealer and they were nice enough to have parked these two colors together in the sun for some comparison. SO is growing on me....

This is what I have been saying about SO. It has so many different colors depending on light. In bright sun I think it looks great.

I was between these two colors when buying my m240i. Ended up with Melbourne Red. MR actually has an orange tone to it in direct sunlight. It is a very playful red. Best way I can describe it is a very ripe tomato color in direct sunlight and a Ferrari-esque, deeper red in overcast or low light.
For some reason, I feel like the pics in this thread do not do MR justice. Just looks "red" next to the Sunset Orange. As for SO, I really like it in certain lighting conditions, but sometimes it just looks a little too pumpkin orange for my tastes. If only Sakhir Orange had been available. I agree with poster above who said SO will probably look great on the M2C.

Sunset Orange is a bit dull and disappointing, to me, in anything but direct sunlight. Saw it in SC and was underwhelmed.

MR is a milky red color to me also, but it looks very nice in these two pictures. When I see it next to Electric Red or Imola Red, the MR looks dull and milky. If only BMW would let us order the M2C in Electric or Imola.

Between those two, I'd have to say Melbourne.
I still don't understand why BMW didn't give us a proper red on the M2. I think resurrecting Imola or Mugello would be awesome on that car.

They never gave the M3/M4 a proper red. Not sure what their deal is last few years not offering reds for M cars.
