X3M Order Tracking

Obviously it's a bit early for this, but figured I would start a thread to track orders for the first wave of allocations. I have a deposit down for the first one at my dealership, hoping this will be a good place for the early adopters to exchange info.

Expecting the X3M to be like the M2?

I definitely want a X3M - it's going to be a BA ride.

I'm so torn on getting a M3, a X3 M40i or the X3M lol

I know it'll be the best of both worlds but I still like smaller cars while also lean being practical. Plus there's the matter the M40i currently comes with the wrong steering wheel in NA markets lol

I have a deposit down as well. I am hoping the X3M release does not suffer the same BMW shenanigans the M5 did. No one wants to drop 80K on a M SAV only to see a full CP version released less than a year later.

Apparently, it's BMW's new roll out strategy...

So, which engine is BMW putting into the X3/X4 M? Is it going to be "hotter" version of the B58 or are they sticking with the S55?

It better be a minimum of 475 HP at this SAV weight. There is a link (thanks to FSociety to a review that I can't post that has the GLC 63S doing 0-60 in 3.3 secs.

"The performance SUV champ is the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S Coupe"

I'll assume "rated" at 475, with the typical BMW conservative published figures. Wouldn't be surprised with it dynoing at closer to 500 crank HP.

You and me both, except I already have F80 M3, wife has an F20 116d and we are toying with going back to 1 car.

Have a drive in X3 30d today to give us an idea but basically I’m torn between M40i and waiting it out for X3M....
The realest argument is that the M40i will arguably be the more realistic road car, and still be more than fast enough for anything you can do on the public roads.... however by that logic I’d have bought a 330d instead of my M3..

Ha! For me the list is M2 CSL, X3M40i or X3M.....

LOL at the steering wheel... well one does hope the X3M gets a decent wheel... lol... I just drove an X3M30 as a loaner last weekend while getting airbags changed on two BMWs. I found a lot to like... although at the same time... I also still really enjoy my Sdrive E84 X1 M Sport. I will have to check out an X3M40 more closely as I do want more a little more performance oriented drive... A slightly lower ride height would be perfect.

With as heavy as the M2 " Competition " has gotten to be... I am now officially more looking forward to the X3M but truthfully the X3M40i looks to check all the boxes already.

Have there been any updates over the last month on when we'll be able to build these and what the hp/torque numbers will be? Dinan recently did a Dyno on the X3 M40i and were shocked to see the numbers so different than BMW listed numbers. 440/445 at the crank, which is one of the biggest underratings they've seen. I'm guessing maybe BMW wanted to keep it super low in order for the gap to be larger with the X3M. I hope the BMW quoted hp/torque and actual is at least 50-75hp over the M40i to justify the cost.

I'm waiting too! My guess from reading other threads the X3 M is a 2020 model and it wouldn't even start production until August 2019. They have a bunch of 2019 introductions the 3er, X5, X7 and Z4.
