Michelin PS4S M235i

Hi everybody,

i'm running an M235i RWD and my Michelin Pilot Super Sport begin to be tired.

I first wanted to replace my old PSS by a set of 4 new ones but i just rode about the new PS4S which are the replacement of the PSS. Tests indicate that the PS4S are better than the PSS.

The problem is that the sizes of the PS4S i need ( 2 x 245/35ZR18 and 2 x 225/40ZR18 ) are only available in the USA and i'm located in France ...

Here in France and on all the europe, they only begin to R19.

So my question is, is there anybody working on a tire store or on q workshop and who would be able to ship them to France ? I'm ready to pay the shipping cost of course.

Thanks !

Did you call a Michelin distributor directly, or just go from catalogs? I thought they were all made over there, so would expect you would have the biggest variety. Intercontinental shipping charges would have to be prohibitive, so if they aren't available you might consider the Continental extremeContact Sports. I run those, and they do very well in comparison to the Ps4s (from the reviews I have seen - have not run Michelins myself).

They'd be crazy expensive to ship overseas. Go knock on Michelin's door, don't they live down the street from you? Good luck!

I already asked Michelin France but they confirmed that these sizes are not supplied for Europe.

I'm ready to pay shipping because euro / usd exchange rate is currently at my advantage.
If i don't find any dealer ready to ship to France, i will buy again PSS here.

But compared to the PSS, the PS4S got new compound technologie and innovation. And the PSS is a little bit "old" now.

Call/e-mail TIRERACK.COM or DISCOUNTTIREDIRECT.COM and ask if they do international shipping. If they ship to Hawaii or North Alaska, why not Europe.

DHL shipping even on large items may be doable

Not that I should be giving advice, but, I think you should just buy the MPSS tires available in France - they are so good I don’t think you’ll notice the suppose upgrades on the new PS4’s on the road in the wet or dry. The PS4’s aren’t BMW Star OEM like the MPSS.
And what happens if you were to get the PS4’s and u had a balance issue or you get road hazard damage once installed ?

I think they will become star OEM soon

You're right for balance and road hazard but i'm ready to take the risk.

The MPS4 are very good as well. Compared to MPSS they have the same dry grip, but the PS4's have much better wet grip (had them on my Z4). I'm still on my factory MPSS tires on my M240i and when they wear out I'm definetely gonna buy the MPS4. Never tried the MPS4S though... at first I thought it was the same tire tire just designed for larger dimensions.
