Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 are amazing winter tires. Try those.

Hands down the best are Michelin X-Ice 3's. Don't even think All Seasons. Complete compromise.

I always check out the Tirerack reviews to pick out tires, especially Read All Reviews for Your Vehicle.

I'm on Conti Winters and love them, but next time I'm going to try those Nokians so I'd start there. The improvement in going to a true winter tire cannot be overstated, brand variations are probably quite modest between the champs (Michelin, Continental, and Nokkian).

I put Nokia’s Hakkapelita Rs on dedicated winter wheels, minus 1 sized so that they’re a little narrower. Hard to find the tires, I got mine from M&L in Nashua.

IMHO, based on your location, I would NOT even consider all season tires. Maybe if you had x-drive, but otherwise a good dedicated summer and winter tire is best combination. As recommended, going with a more narrow winter tire than OEM sizing would benefit in the winter driving conditions. Recommend NOT driving summer tires in any temperatures lower than 34 F degrees. Good luck with your decision. biz
