Hey guys.

Just bought a CPO 2018 X1 SD. I came from a GTI, and this is the second day with the X1.

The car is relatively new and fully loaded, but I am noticing something that might be abnormal this evening.

When I am going between the shifting modes, P-R-N-D, I am noticing that sometimes going from park into drive, it would make a weird "creaking" noise before engaging into drive. I thought that was strange, so I tried to replicate it, but it didn't happen. Then I went back into reverse from drive, and notice the same thing (weird noise right before it engages into reverse.) The noise would randomly occur during different modes.

Any ideas on what might be happening?

Aisin, nor ZF, are designed with weird noises.

I recommend a visit to dealer.
