Gents, I have the rather beautiful style 405 (19") wheels and since it seems that the tire tread on my Pirelli's in the back is vanishing (it wasn't me!), I started looking at tires. I'd like to slightly upsize my rear tire from 245/30-19 to a 255/30-19. The rear wheels are 8" and I know that TireRack recommends a minimum 8.5" for a 255 tire. What are your thoughts? Anyone here doing this?

I searched and while the question has been asked, I did not see a definitive answer...please help. The Pilot Sport 4s are just $3 more expensive in 255 vs. 245.

bumping this one up. TLDR; question was about fitting a 255 tire on a 8" wide wheel (style 405 in 19"). Possible? Done? Experiences?

255/30-19 tyre requires a rim 8.5 to 9.5” wide, 245/30-19 is the widest tyre for a 8” wide rim.
