I have been waiting for reviews on the M2 competition. Cars are going to production in another month, I am surprised that no media has test driven the car yet.
I have already put down my deposit for a 6MT M2C in HS. Need to see the review or test drive, I know it wouldn't be possible, so I can decide whether I should keep my 17 M2 or upgrade with the new M2 competition. |

Yeah. Want to see a honest test review from Chris Harris soon and see what it can do, fast. Come on, there is a M2C with all the carbon add ons right there. We want to see it in motion, not siting there collecting rain water or gathering dust.

"SWB M4"
That's what they're all going to write/say in way too many words. |

Guys, I have been invited and I will update you on my thoughts.
All I am allowed to say is that those reviews are still a few months away! MR |

This is sort of a head scratching move by BMW IMO - there's no need to delay access to the car now....everyone now knows what's there or not included in the M2C. I would think that giving the typical reviewers a chance to drive/video the car before production begins would drive up interest...

You might think that it is a head scratching move if you look only at the M2C, but as a member of the media (in my case the last 15 years) you easily know and see that the moment they have chosen is the right one within the greater scheme of things and the preparation for press events like the one with the M2C. There are more than a 100 different media from across the world who are going to drive that car on one press event. Totally normal for any car manufacturer, and that asks time to plan it all well in a decent matter and making sure the media gets what they need for their medium. Trust me for them it is the best timing with all that is on the table right now when you look at new BMW releases, events, holidays, etc. Oh and don't worry I think everyone's M2C will arrive after the embargo on the content has lifted. (Do we even have to convince the early adopters and buyers?) That is not always the case, look at the M3 CS, but I think it will be with the M2C. MR Last edited by MR.; 06-05-2018 at 04:00 PM.. |

I always wondered if the M2c was not 100% dialed in yet (ongoing tuning) which is why they're not allowing it to be reviewed. Just give it to Chris Harris already, he'll even help you dial it in!

I'm betting the agreement with BMW is they give them the car to review, but under the condition that they cannot post it until the ///Mbargo is removed. I probably sound skeptical, but I've seen this movie before and unless they've changed the way they do things it's what to expect.

Maybe they are tying to figure out how to put the roof on at the factory.

driving up interest needs to be timed sometimes and in this case there are still potential m3/4 customers that may want to place an order for one so the bmw does not want to unleash m2c until that right time comes |

I don’t need a review.
406 pounds torque. (Underrated as always) Short wheel base. S55 high revving. F8X chasis, which is sublime, IMO. Only thing I don’t like is the weight, would prefer ((less)) options, cloth manual seats, etc.. |

Wondering if they are making some final tweaks based on the feedback of the hardcore enthusiasts and our collective bitching. Like maybe different paint colors, or factory CF roof option, or who knows...but there is still more than plenty time for them to make adjustments. Side note: In all reality a CF roof or any CF parts for that matter should not cost much more than a metal roof. Especially since BMW brought CF fabrication in-house, it's not nearly as expensive to produce as it once was. In fact it's fairly cheap nowadays. We just keep paying through the nose for it because everyone collectively thinks it is an expensive upgrade. It's like gold. It only has value because we all collectively agree that it should. That's why it's laughable when people suggest you should invest in gold in case of economic collapse. Got news for you: in the event of economic collapse or zombie apocalypse or any of that nonsense, gold will be valueless because it has no practical use.

Exactly. You can drive an M235/M2/M4 today. I don't think any of us will notice the 2% weight gain.
