Body Control Module

Hi, I have BMW E91 (2005) auto diesel. Body control module has became faulty. So I have another module in place but it is not exactly from the same car model and some of the electronics are not working properly. Can it be coded or does it need replacement with the exactly same as the original? If it can programmed, it would be great to get some guide/material on how to do it. Thanks!

What's the part number of the old one and new one?

Try coding the JBE to default with NCS

Hi Sensible, I have managed to get the original part with same part number and most of the things are working now. Yay! Unfortunately, when I try to connect INPA, it does not recognise and gives me error. I had different diagnostic software to try and diagnose but it also does not communicate with car. What can it be?

the modules untill 2007/03 communicate using K-line protocol
the modules after 2007/03 communicate using DCAN protocol
so you need to check what car is manufacturing date of the car and what version of the module you installed instead

Right. The module I have installed was exactly same part number, H4, manufacturing date 2005 (same as original). My E91 was manufactured in late 2005. I have the following cable: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F112889244545
