I hope we get the digital key. We don't get the display key in as many models as Europe does and we never got the activity key.

It's available for the Samsung phones, as the NFC is accessible to developers for apps. Apple is also allowing developers with iOS 12 access to the NFC chip, so we should be good for the US market in the fall. The G05 should also have the digital key (same iDrive 7 system). BMW

I wonder how secure this phone unlock feature will be given problems seen with keyless go in the past. I'm not sure on the current security level of keyless go but last I heard thieves were still able to unlock cars with keyless go relatively easily and drive off.
