Can't be much help assume you fiddled with something that impacted the light for the airbag on / off that's tied into that system.
That aside any reason you didn't just tap the mirror for power? That's a well documented 5 minute install.

It fell off and pulled the mirror tap out - I wanted to reinstall using a more secure connection. Power and ground are much more secure now. Seemed like a good idea at the time  |

Add this to the shit that would have helped before category - I have this on my X5 (the escort version) and the car bakes in the sun all day and it has never come loose.
