M2 vs M2 Competition 1/4 mile numbers

I wonder how much faster new M2 Competition will be over previous M2. Previous M2 1/4 mile trap numbers were really off from M3 and M4 numbers

Not really but the 1/4 miles numbers on the M3 and M4 are quite good. Was just surprised at how far off the numbers were for the M2

Not sure about the actual numbers but from looking at the power curves between the two and with only like 55Kg weight increases (lower with any carbon panel options) it will be quite a bit faster

Initial M4 testing(pre-comp), 1/4mile times were low 12's and close to 120mph. M2 Comp could get within a couple tenths and mph of those times.

Otherwise you’re better off buying a M2 non-competition.

Yes, most enthusiasts like myself have driven cars at different horsepower and did some straight line in the past. If you’ve done so, you’d be able to conceptialize the power and thrill behind the wheel.

I was just kinda trolling. I think I was over tired at that point so I apologize. I’ve tried the 1/4 and damn it’s way harder then I ever thought. But it’s kinda the same concept as road racing. A specific technique, practice and skill helps you pick up tenths of seconds (or hell, actual seconds). For me it was just a little less rewarding. But that’s me, to each his own.

Well after I put BM3 on and flash the stock M4 ZCP tune which has been known to put 440+whp to the tires I think its gonna be pretty darn fast . No reason it shouldnt be safe either its designed by bmw for this engine.

I'm going to do the same.

I think that's so overlooked by so many. A BMW factory tune map already exists for the M2C.

If BMW is smart they will offer the M4 ZCP tune as an "M Performance Pack" in the future.

Quoted figures are for the manual car.

Weight savings (Kg)
Roof 5
Tailgate 6
Bonnet 9
MPE (if available) 8

Looks like there is more bang for your buck to go for a carbon bonnet and a light weight exhaust. No invasive operation by some greasy guys on your beloved car too...

I told that exact same thing to my SA a few months ago. Think of the genius of that!

Don't do this comparison stock, ever.

You want to drag, you need to mod. When modding, S55 humiliates N55 big time, needing nothing but a tune.

Yeah but none of that is going to make your car look 10x sexier on the outside

I'm also not a fan of the MPE on the S55 after having it on my M3. Probably an unpopular opinion but it was very raspy IMO. Maybe paired w/ a single mid pipe.

Based on modify weight loss drag race days 10hp is .1 tenth and 100lbs is .1 tenth.

-.05s weight penalty.
+.4s 40hp gain

By estimate is .35s faster in the 1/4 mile under similar condition and car.

Motortrend 12.9s therefore around 12.55s we will see
