no more reflectors

So I dropped my car off today at the body shop to have them eliminate the front reflectors on the bumper and fill the holes from the license plate. Also to get a full detail and wax. I'll post pics by the end of the week when I get it back. Hopefully filling the reflector holes comes out good and last a long time. This is the second body shop (and they are an excellent shop) that told me there's a good chance I will end up seeing a ring where they fill the holes sometime in the future. They didn't say it will def happen, just a chance and as long as I don't blame them then no problem. This option is still far cheaper than buying the Euro bumper. I can't wait to see how clean the car looks when I get it back

Here's some quick shots after getting my car back from body shop with reflectors and license plate eliminated. They also detailed it for me. So clean looking now, hopefully it stays that way. Beats the painted reflectors by a long shot in my opinion. Hopefully I'll get some real photos done soon with all my mods and I'll post themName: IMG_0148.jpg

This also shows the GP Thunders 7500k in the daytime for those who haven't seen them. If anybody wants my old smoked reflectors PM me otherwise I'm throwing them in the trash

Looks fantastic! Good for you for having the "seeds" to throw your new car in the body shop for the improvement. Well done!

cost me $850.... well worth it. Those are crappy iPhone photos, the white doesn't even look white. Will look far better when I get some nice ones up.

How does the old reflector area look? Can you even tell where they were?

Wow $850. Isn't a euro bumper like $500 something? I think I'm going to go euro bumper once I get enough rock chips. Looks awesome man.

Yeah but the Euro bumper isn't painted. Add that and labor and I'm sure it probably will cost just as much as this.

Euro bumper takes a lot of labor, it's not painted or even fitted to the vehicle yet. keep in mind this was one of the more expensive shops near me (but they are very good) and where I live no labor rates are not cheap. I didn't price Euro bumper, but I'd imagine it's more than $500. But the labor will more than make up for it.

It looks perfect where they filled the holes, it would be impossible to tell they were ever there.

Looks great but $850 to fill some gaps just does not justify it for me.

I should've asked what the labor would be on a new euro bumper... I just know a couple of BMWs that had their stock bumper taken off and repainted because the paint was scratched and both came in about $900. So I'm guessing it would've still cost me about $850 to take off my stock bumper, paint and fit the new euro bumper, plus I'd still have to spend another $565 for euro bumper.

The other plus, was the shop was able to repair a ding that was right in the crease over my right rear tire from someone opening a door into me. That was a real nice surprise since they weren't sure if they'd be able to fix it in that location.

I saw somebody else on here that filled theirs too. I think it might have been ShadeM3? I'm curious how much it cost him in another part of the country?

$900 to paint a stock bumper is absurd.

There is one thing I still don't get. Are we allowed to remove or paint those reflectors(in terms of law)?? Im not very knowledgeable about that, but I thought that if the US cars have reflectors and Euro ones don't, there is probably a reason for that, because I think we all agree that they re fugly, no??

The law says you're supposed to have them, but I'm not worried about it.

Yep, $900 to paint a stock bumper where I live.... Everything is expensive here. There's a few shops I probably could've got it done for less, but I was looking for quality not price.

Yes. And I painted my previous car's reflectors as well cause they just look so much cleaner without them.

I got my evosport reflectors yesterday and I think they look real nice on Jet Black but I kind of hate it on AW cars.
