Did you pop your hood and poke around at all?? I am wondering if your charge pipe popped off and/or cracked. I have had this happen twice...

Update: The dealership said throttle actuator failure. Now they are just waiting on Dinan. Though technically it cannot be cause by the tune... this is in Canada, not sure if we have and warranty related laws.

If yours drives fine, don't worry about it. If you are worried now, then you shouldn't have tuned. I have seen Dinan cars with loads of km/miles on it, so I still have faith.

End result, not the fault of the tune, right?

Bolt from intake destroyed the turbo, sending shards of metal into the engine. So take what you can from that.

Agreed and we can get a definitive answer on fault by finding out who will be paying for the repair.

Is BMW paying or Dinan?

This is in Canada, so who is paying can be very different than in the US. Currently, from what I am hearing from the dealership, Dinan is paying for it. We don't have the "warranty law" as the US.

Pretty impressive that Dinan is covering it.

By no means is this the fault of the Dinan product just bad luck of BMW manufacturing. Build a 1000 of one thing bound to end up with a few bad units.

Glad you're getting it taken care of.
