Beginner questions
Hey guys! So I'm unsure if this is where I'm suppose to post this but I have a 2008 E93 335i with about 103k on it. I just bought a used Cobb Accessport V2 and I'm really excited to dive on into this! I want to start logging like oil temps boost pressure etc. I will be using the accessport manager and buying a separate laptop for this. I'm aware of what that software needs for it to run but I need to know if those parameters for the laptop are enough to also start coding. I've never coded in my life so this forum will be my guide. I don't know what kind of cable is okay to use. I know it has to be an obd2 cable. Unsure if a generic one will work well or not but aside from that i don't know what else i would need to get me started to code like what program and things of that nature. Again I am a complete amateur I have never done anything like this so any information you guys might have or links to any useful information to understanding what things mean will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's a far fetching hope, esp from this forum. Most people here hook up to their cars through K+DCAN cable, and use INPA (pretty old) or Rheingold (ISTA-D) software to observe the gauges.
"Coding" is a separate beast, primarily to modify factory defaults by changing certain stored parameters in ECUs. Please look through stickies, xxxjecxxx has a very elaborate tutorial. |
