E90 M3 Reflector Delete
I had my reflectors removed a week ago at a Certified BMW Repair Center so I took a few pics to post here for everyone to see. I think it finally looks the way it should. (Apologies for the bad reflection)

Looks great. I am guessing they had to spray the entire front bumper?

Why can't you just double side tape orange reflectors on your bumper to pass any tests? Sees simple enough, then remove when done.

Yes, but it's a stupid set of laws, so therefore ok to totally ignore. Seriously, if police are out stopping people because they don't have the proper square footage of reflectors on their vehicle, they aren't out doing something actually useful. No front plate, no reflectors, low mpg... the world will surely end any day now as a result.

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that the reflectors had to come with the car from the manufacturer but that it was ok for the owner to take them off. If there is a law that requires the owner/driver to have the reflectors it's probably a state law and would vary from state to state. I'll have to do some more research on this. Anybody have a definitive answer about federal law?
