Interior comparison G05(x5) vs G11(7) vs F92(8)

Is it just me or does G05 have one of the best interiors among all BMWs. It seems its better than 7 and on par with 8 series. Not bad for a car starting at 5x,xxx and getting interior quality of 1xx,xxx cars.

Check out the exact same center stack as 8, same hvac controls and same cluster. basically order leather dash/merino and crafted clarity (for a few thousand) and get close to the same interior as an 8er and arguably better than 7!!!

I care more about interior given i spend much more time there touching and looking at it....

pic are in order of x5->7-8

Wow, awesome pictures!

X5 and 8 series interior are really ALMOST identical. You have to flip back and forth a couple of times to see the differences:
- side vents go up a little higher on the X5
- leather stitching is a little different
- front part of the Center console (where cupholders are hidden) is different

Interestingly, the leather on the 8series is the perforated stuff (Vernasca?) May be necessary for the ventilated seats.

Also interesting: the 8 series shifter Cluster (obviously) does not have the Offroad/air-suspension toggle switches of the X5, i.e. covered with a hard plastic plate.
I wonder if that is what the shifter cluster will look like for those of you that didn't order the offroad package/air-suspension ?

The key takeaway is for x5 they didn't hold back. It way better than 5 series (even m5 except the seats) and in many ways better than 7 (new center stack, crafted clarity and new live cockpit).

The 7 series is always BMW's flagship and new features are inherited to lesser models - at a later time. My guess is that since the X7 and the 8series are (also) top of the line, the latest design of those vehicles are inherited down to the new X5. As you put it, we can be very happy about getting the latest design in our vehicles.

Do you have a closeup of the X5 shifter with crafted clarity (similar to the first picture)?

Dislike the new location of start button.

Much more convenient on the dash.

I think it's more convenient where they moved it versus behind the steering wheel. Consequently though, it would be easier to accidentally hit or be held down.

7er LCI is die very soon. Think it needs a little catch up. Apparently the exterior front will be sharper and show the way for the X7. I think this means much slimmer and sharper headlights and bigger .... grills!

Agree here, I also feel that the interiors are amazing and are really up there @ the top !

Nailed it for me on the last point - quite under-rated IMO, but very true. I also love the new digital instrumentation/gauges - looks beautiful. Hope they have good contrast/black levels to really make the gauges pop nicely ! Makes it hard for me to now look at the old [ =classic ?] round dials that has been there for so long.
