GTA:How much do you pay for insurance in ON?
I'm in a dilemma of whether I should move or shouldn't move to Toronto from Van. It's a dramatic change since I have so many things settled down here already plus the recent delivery of my car. I'd have to punch insurance diffeerence into my moving expense calculation and etc.. So i'm gonna have to ask you people in Ontario(especially, people in Toronto) how much you guys are paying for insurance for your e90/e92. I know that e92 is going to cost more than e90 to insure. Can you please state what company you're using to insure your car, your age, and your total # of years driving(/w or /wo accidents)
It would help me a lot in estimating my moving expenses, and atm I'm leaning more towards to not moving since i'm lookiing at roughly 4k~5k for the moving without taking insurance into considertation. If Anybody can give me an advice in moving to far place. I would be really grateful! Thanks in advance! P.S- I'm paying almost 3.3k for insurance here with full coverage(300 deductable), and a full driving license. I'm 23.

Can I ask you why are you thinking of moving? Is it because of your job? If so what industry you are in?
I asked that because I lived in both TO and Vancouver. Personally I prefered TO. Also in my line of work (IT) there are lots of jobs in TO. So if you are thinking about moving because of job, I will say go for it. What ever said and done TO is the business capital of Canada. Good Luck |

The cheapest quote I'm getting from Kanetix.ca is 4900 from KTX Insurance Solutions.
I wasn't expecting that it would be in 2000~3000range, but I'm wondering if there are companies who do better than KTX Insurance Solutions/BellAir direct. I can't really get quotes from other sites since I don't have ON license or ON address to get quotes with. How is Geico? They always how ppl save through switching over to them. CurlyFatAngry// Yeah Vancouver is a beautiful city! Definitely an option to consider when you are looking at your senior age ! ROFL!! Pros - Beautiful weather during summer, friendly people Cons - Read pros again.

I was with KTX before RBC, a few things if you go with them. They are brokers, which is fine, but that means no direct dialogue with the insurer if you need a claim, all through the broker. It also means billing is kind of messed up. We went through 4 different contacts in 2 years (people leaving KTX). I got sick of it and finally left when they sent my renewal this year and my rate had gone up over $1,000 a year. Called RBC and they quoted me $3200 for both cars (335 and cooper s) compared to $4320 from KTX.

Hey
Good luck with your move. Try TD Insurance. When I lived in TO I was with Direct Protect. They quoted me the lowest. I paid 350/month for a Acura Integra at the time. Keep in mind I was a new driver at the time. Try to find a agent for Aviva insurance. They seems like a pretty reasonable insurance company. |

Direct Protect is now the "Co-operators" btw. I'm with them. My insurance is apparently going to be about 2200 or so as of next year...right now its still 1700 b/c I'm a group client and so when I got the new car they said they wouldn't up the fee till next year (good news for me). But then I've got home insurance and a professional discount so my rates aren't really the standard rates. I'm 26, only one small ticket, no accidents, full license.

Mine is going to be $ 1825 per year and I'm with CAA. Not bad I think, plus in the first 2 years if the car is stolen and not recovered or if it's totalled, I get what I paid for the car, not what the car has depreciated to. Also have what CAA calls "forgive and forget" which means that your first at fault accident won't affect your rates, or something like that lol
