Issues w/ iPhone xs

Anyone have issues with the new iPhone XS and phone calls in the m5?

Since I got the XS Max last week, when I get a phone call, the call drops after one ring. If the person calls back or if I call back, the call works fine. The issue is the same on outgoing calls as well.

I assume it's an IOS 12 issue but it seems to be only on the BMW platform as my wife has no issues with the Porsche PCM and my Ford Raptor has no issues either.

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Would probably need to figure this out in the next week in case I need to return and get a new phone.

I will tell you tomorrow when I get my car. I have the XS Max. So far I'm having an issue with people I'm talking to saying I'm breaking up. Apparently there is an issue with the antenna design that may not be correctible with software.

I'm having that issue with my X6M and the iPhone XS Max. Phone calls dropping and worst of all, from time to time when the phone is connected to the car, the entire phone freezes/crashes and has to be force restarted. Granted, I'm using CarPlay which is fairly buggy to begin with. I also noticed when I send a text message from my phone while it's connected to the car, there is a significant delay from when I hit the send button, to the phone actually sending the message.

I had iOS 12 on iPhone X and had no issues. I don't know if it's related to the iPhone XS Max or iOS 12.0.1.

I spend quite a bit of time on calls and I have not had one dropped call. Try resetting your network settings

Network settings are only for data. The first step is to reboot the phone

I went to the Apple Store and got a new phone and no issues with the BMW.

I do have an issue in my Raptor where incoming calls don't come through. Caller says calls go straight to voicemail but I get one ring and that's it. Full disclosure I haven't had a chance to update Sync on my Ford so not sure if that's the problem.

Resetting iPhone network does not affect Bluetooth and you will have to put in all your wifi passwords again, if you can remember them.

This is what to do to reset bluetooth, which is what the iPhone uses to connect to the car:

The first thing to try is to turn off your Bluetooth and restart your iPhone or iPad:
Turn off Bluetooth from Control Center, or by going to Settings > Bluetooth and turning off the switch.
Reboot your iPhone by holding the Home button and the Power button until you see the Apple logo- on newer phones without home button just reboot using power button....

It could be an iPhone issue. From the day I received my new iPhone XS, I had issues with dropped calls, emails freezing up in the reading pane, and my contacts app freezing as well. It took some major jumping through hoops with Verizon, but they finally sent me a new iPhone and no more issues. I'm still waiting on my M5 to be delivered, so I cannot comment on it and the XS.
