F90 M5 Competition vs E63S (+Vbox)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
100-200 is an incredible 6.7 seconds.

While the standard M5 appears to be equal with E63S on a roll the M5 Comp. is notably quicker.

Also added race from full stop.

That's a solid 0.10 quicker than the standard M5 shown at 6.8 seconds here:

What do you think 6.22 translates to in trap speed? If one can even extrapolate that data from this measurement?

Yes that would be nice to see along with what gas they use. Im a normal owner meaning I wont go and use race fuel and am stuck with crap 91 octane sadly.

I knew the competition car handled a little better, but did not know it was much faster in a strait line race.

we need to see the two cars run at the same time to get the best ideal view....

Completely OT but there are plenty of super cars and a huge interest in parts of CA, why isn't 93 octane available there?

Its an environmental thing, nothing that enthusiasts can overcome.

As I have said before, the CP IS quicker and faster - HOW MUCH quicker and faster - I don't know - but if I were to guess; 1-2 tenths quicker and 1-2 MPH faster.

I noticed that in the vid too. Took mine back out and did two yesterday and logged. My tach and my logger show 2800 at a minimum and if I hold it for 4 seconds the rear tires start spinning and it goes to 3000 rpm.

The short shift in first never matches the log and tach. The tach lags behind the actual shift by 300ish rpm. The short shift moves around and is not consistent other than it is short.

Buy GoPoint 1 (or similar) and add DashCmd to your phone and log the launch to see if the tach is inaccurate. You might be getting a 2800rpm Launch.

I actually had that happen to me once...I have it on video too. I held it and it went up and then the tires started to move. By holding the gas pedal once - with the same pressure - and not holding for over a second or two - it stays consistent 2500 or under. I will see if I can log it.

One thing I have noticed that is consistent, the less time on LC , the less wheel spin and the 60ft is better. Short shift is not as early either. If I hold LC until the rears spin and 3000rpm, sixty will drop to 1.76 and it upshifts very early. If I Launch quick when the rpm just hits 2700 , the sixty drops to 1.68 (1.66 best) and it still early shifts, but not as early. With all of the nannies off, they are not totally off and hurt acceleration.

You can purchase racing gas in CA for a steep price.
