Where the heck is the 2009 e90?!

How come BMW has released pictures of the LCI yet? I thought they would atlest been leaked by now.
Also what has befuddled me is that official BMW update that was posted on Bimmerfile (introducing the new colors, leathers, and woods for 09) did not mention once the LCI. As a result, this worrying question has popped into my mind, could they possibly be releasing the LCI for mid-year 2009 (spring 09), rather than September 08?

Anything's possible with BMW.....I find this odd as well.
The new 7 Series for example, will be available in Europe shortly, however not in the U.S. until Spring of '09.

BMWNA has had shortened Model Years for various models in the past.

We have marketing images but nothing officially "official"

As for a Spring release, I doubt it but would not be surprised.

Right now BMW is swamped with 2008 inventory in the US and are trying to move it so the 2009 can hit the lots, if the announced the LCI now they would be stuck with a lot of cars. The NorthEast is at normal inventory but the South and West have way too many cars I have been told. The Owner Loyalty Program and Pull Ahead Program are being implemented to deplete the 2008 inventory by September. Some dealers in the NorthEast will not have the allocation or stock to accommodate the anticipated demand so they are being granted the ability to cherry pick cars from under performing dealers and have them trucked at no cost.

The change in colors, wheels, and interior treatment for the 2009 E90/91 say LCI without officially announcing it. I have a feeling another market will break the news first with the US coming in last!

The 3 Coupe was held back b/c it should have the option of the DCT and that may prevent people from buying a 2008. The official E90 ordering guide was even held for an extra week so they could better grasp the inventory issues.

It's not yet announced in Europe either, but the official reason here is that they are waiting the motorshow in Paris (4th of october). The dealers don't have an inventory here, so I believe this is the real reason.

Dude! October 4th, come on, thats right about when I would be taking delivery of mine. I have a first week of September production date.

The announcement will be in the form of a press release/ media announcement prior to Paris, much the same as they planned to do with the 7. Production will start in September (has been announced already) so there is no way they could hide the car until Paris as it will be shipping all over the place and if they did they would have no cars for months.... Though the release in the US has been held until Oct 13th. People also originally thought the 7 would be held until Paris, though it will not be.

Like I said before the release will happen elsewhere before the US, and yes certain places do not have cars but there is still a months worth of allocation available. Also August there is no production so supply is always short as is the fall.

With thousands of cars sitting all over the US, BMWAG has to move those before they talk LCI and the current marketing reinforces that.

There will be a world debut at Paris.... X1 and possibly the Z4 (in concept form like they did with the //M3)

You will not be taking delivery of a 2009 until mid October....

WOW! The prices in Australia are really high...double than the US and Canada...by the way I've already DTC in my car! I think it's also a standard feature in the US

Yes you have DTC but not DCT (read Dual Clutch Transmission).
