G20 Styling

I've had some big reservations with the G20 styling, but that white M Sport is looking good.

Wow...really makes that double door crease standout.

Yes. I never liked white that much until I saw an new M5 comp in it last week. This also looks great.

Would like to see it in black and grey in real life.

The white shows off the lines very well. It looks so aggressive.

Here's my 10 minute G22 430i M-Sport. I had to stick the fake air vent on the side for my own satisfaction. I would totally drive this Frankenstein's creation. You're welcome BMW

They definitely moved away from a Germanic design theme but overall I'm liking this M-Sport. Definitely better implementation that on the 5 series which just doesn't pop. The interior looks like it's catching up to Audi, and with this much HP and initial positive reviews on dynamics, this will be a success for BMW. I'm just excited to have an option with my M3 lease coming up not year.

I'll never understand how a large successful company like BMW has a huge budget to hire the best marketing talent in the world, and whomever they enlisted decided to launch the new 3 series in that that pathetic blue color that hides all the body lines. When I first saw the car in that color, it looked bland and dull, worse than the old design, until I saw the white color shown in this thread and was very impressed with how aggressive and modern it looks. A car company should never choose a color that hides body lines when debuting a vehicle, as this makes the car look boring and lackluster, so I cannot understand how that blue color they selected ever survived the approval process.

This.

It also looks too similar to the current gen Estoril Blue. Someone at BMW has a hard-on for blue and grey.

Blue happens to be my favorite car color but if I were working for BMW in charge of launching a new model, I'd only pick shades that show the body lines of the car as well as that white color does. There is no reason to hide all the work the designers put into making the car appear aggressive and modern when all it takes is picking the right metallic color to accentuate the car's contour.

With you on that - the white ones are great for that purpose, although white isn't that popular over here in the UK. It needs to be clean and in bright conditions to look at its best.

Have you seen it in person? If not, I suggest that you reserve judgment until you do. I have far too often seen cars in person that look so much better than they do in photos, including my F80 M3. You might still hate it, but as for example the competition package rims on my F80 which look hideous in pics and great in person, I always wait to render a final verdict until after seeing the car or rim in the flesh.

I have an '18 F82 ZCP so I know what you're talking about , I couldn't stand the the F line ( still can't ) but I didn't even like the non ZCP version only because it felt too soft. I guess I'll never get over my previous 335iS, that car to me is probably the greatest bmw they have ever produced and all these new models since are just a joke ... don't even get me started on the performance aspect.

I gotta say this car is starting to look very 5 series. That's great if you aspired to own one. It looks large and fat and barge like. Will have to see it on the street of course to decide. But looking at it first words come to mind are luxury, big, expensive and not speed, sport, nimble, 4 door sports car

Looks even more like the IS-350.

I like the G20. I have a feeling the driving experience is going to win a lot of people over. That being said, I think these pictures make me like the design less.... At least the side. That lower side character line is not jiving with me. Can't wait to see an M340i in person to really form an opinion.

I guess that's why BMW brought multiple colours to Paris. I did appreciate to see the Blue live, it caught my attention more than the white one with better body lines.

Maybe it's the lighting. The concave/convex shape doesn't look as stark on the blue.

My mind has fully adapted to the G20 design.

There are many spotlights directly above the car and therefore throw a strong shadow below the shape on the side - it won't look like that on the road.
