What wheels to get

I was about to order matte black vmr v710 wheels for my black car but I am having second thoughts. Do you guys think they would look bad for my car? I can't really find another wheel I like though that I can afford. Or should I powder coat my stock wheels gloss black?

I have an EB 2014 M235i. I powder coated my stock wheels gloss black after deciding I didn't want to spend a few thousand on new wheels. I only found one reference picture online, but it looked really good and I figured I could always buy a new set if it didn't meet my standards. It ran me about $600 total from a local guy and I had them do it when I was replacing all 4 tires, so I didn't have to pay for mount/balance. I believe I made a post about it with some pictures. Would I trade my wheels out for a nicer set of VMRs? Of course. But to save $1,500-$4,000, the powder coating will likely stay on for the length of my ownership.

For my personal taste/opinion, I think our cars lend themselves better to a gloss or machined finish. There are times that matte black has the tendency to look like "dirty gloss black" and I didn't want to run that risk. Just my $0.02

I have the stock wheels already powder coated black, it just wasnt enough for me.

The VMR v710 is a fine wheel but IMO a bit too generic.

I went with VMR v801 for something a little more unique

The V710 is a popular wheel for good reason! They look great on anything you bolt them up to. We even have special 1 Series rear specs! If you ever feel like you want a change from the Matte Black, you can always refinish them next season.

tennisfreak might be onto something with the V801 idea!

Flat black looks great on most colors, but it does show brake dust as bad as any other colors.
