Has anyone ordered the 22” wheel option?

We love to see multiple pics once someone has taken delivery.

I ordered it, but no car until December. I've stalked Instagram from some real life pics. Did see the 21's in person and they were far better looking than on the configurator. So I'm sure the 22's will look better as well! Here's an ig pic.

I've ordered on my week 43. What I really want is an owner's opinion of how it rides in the different modes. Is it spine jarring, or does the relative cushy ride everyone describes enough to dampen?

My build has the 22's. Not worried about the ride quality but my wife might be hell on (22") wheels! Our Escalade has 22's but much more meat on the tires than X5 will have. Can't wait to add spacers for that extra aggressive stance.

Here’s mine. I love it and think it compliments the M-Sport pkg perfectly. I would order again for sure.

Those pictures are awesome. Make me feel good about getting the 22's, even with the low profile. I would love your take on the ride quality. Found this article, which gave a driver impression below, but would love your impression. Thx!

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/n...15-129833.html

"Mainly because of increased brake disc sizes, the X5 G05 will be the first Bavarian production car to be available with up to 22-inch wheels, which will naturally be reserved for the sportiest engine versions, including the X5 M50d we had our way with.

Considering the tire and wheel combo, with minuscule side walls, and also the fact that the car was only equipped with the Adaptive Suspension, not the one with air struts, the comfort levels were actually more than decent. Plus, the biggest wheels also fill the wheel arches perfectly, so, despite the way 22-inch sounds, I'd actually recommend them for exclusive on-road use."

I drove a 50i with the 22s today (M Adaptive Suspension). The ride was surprisingly great, better than my F15 with 20s.

Overall, I would not have expected the car to be on the 22s.

I'm excited to take delivery of my car on 22s next week. I also have the air suspension, so the ride should be even better.

Great news, thanks for that. I really like the look of the 22's as in photos above. I know the low profiles aren't to everyone's taste, but I love the look and glad to know the ride won't be harsh.

^^ This. I really want the staggered setup so it's either 21 or 22 for me. All the pre launch hype showed the cars with 22 so that's the look I fell in love with, but if it means I sacrifice all the advantages of the new suspension system, then I would drop down to 21. Unless, there's hardly any difference b/w the 21 and 22s.

Has anyone gotten the BMW tire and wheel insurance for the X5 with the 22" wheels? Curious what the cost would be both with the cosmetic insurance and without.

I respectfully disagree. I got the 22's because they look great and fill up the wheel gap, but they are significantly worse of a ride then the 20's on the F15. It's my only regret. I would opt for the 21's or even the 20's if I had a do over.

I have a big dilemma at this point. I want to get the 22” rims rather than the 21’s because I don’t want the run flats anymore. Would the fact that the 22’s are not rigid and heavy like the 21” run flats are compensate the interior comfort? The 20’s are out of the equation since they come with all season tires that would wore out very fast in Houston heat + I want those big tires on the back.

I did not find any noticeable difference in ride quality between the 21" with runflat and 22" without.
