Mobile Call via Bluetooth

If my phone is only connected via Bluetooth to the car should I be able to make and take calls using the cars speakers and built in mic? I’m sure I used to be able to do this but for the last few months the phone connects to the car but all calls are on the phones speakers and mic. If I select the Bluetooth connection I get no sound at all.

This no sound occurs for any phone app such as Waze, use the phones speaker and I get audio directions, select the car and I get nothing.

Wondering what the hell is going on.

when you are connected to bluetooth to your car check the settings from the phone to what you are connected to
checking to see if calls/media... etc is ON

Mine is connected to the car via Bluetooth, and works fine. But this is only after I did a recent firmware update.

As pongkin mentioned above; double-check the settings on your phone, to ensure they are still turned on and properly paired to your BMW.

My car did a software update about a month ago, and I had to re-pair my phone after that.
Perhaps this is what you're experiencing. Try re-pairing the phone to the car.
