BMW Surprise Bonus

So before my car was delivered I was looking into illuminated door sills. They ended up being too expensive at $700/pair. So after I got the car I noticed that my "M" sills looked like they were illuminated but not obvious. Today at the dealer for floor liners and I noticed a 750 in the showroom with illuminated "M" sills so I checked out the other cars and it became obvious that I had illuminated sills. But why? I would have ordered them but they weren't a option. The CA said BMW probably added them because I ordered the INDIVIDUAL FULL Merino leather. Has anyone else with this option have these sills?
I'm liking this car more and more each day.

What do you mean by illuminated door sills? I've seen the little puddle lights that you can install to have m logos on the ground but I thought that went a little too far. My mocha leather interior came with M550i illuminated sills which I didn't tick as an option. I'm also noticing that some of the coding options I've seen is in my idrive settings. For example I can configure at what temperature the ventilation automatically turns on and I read a bit ago about people coding this option. There are a few others that I noticed the past week but can't recall the details. Wondering if BMW is watching coders and making changes to new builds kind of like how most of the updates apple does to the iphone were previously done with jailbreaking?

I got Tartufo and am loving it. Wish I got the ceramic knobs. Just read about someone who tried to retrofit ceramic and said it was $2k and wouldn't work because BMW knows what the build had with regards to shifter/idrive controller. Crazy

No I wasn't talking about the door projectors that shine a light symbol on the ground. Sounds like you 550 lights. Yes on mine it's the "M" on the metal sills. None of the cars other cars on the showroom other then the 750 had them. Guess we're both lucky. This sill but that's not my car but it is my color leather.

Here's mine but I don't know why it's not illuminating. Maybe the garage lights are telling it that it's sunny right now. Tartufo was my number one but I didn't want to delay the delivery time frame so mocha was a very close second.

Well I'm also loving the Mediterranean blue we both got. In fact I'm liking it more then my first choice, Marina Bay Blue. BMW wouldn't give me the MBB at the time. Glad they didn't because the Mediterranean is awesome. It changes colors in bright sunlight vs clouds. It even has a purple look at time when I'm close up. Gorgeous.

I don't know if it's a standard feature here in the UK, but my M door sills illuminate too.

The illumination comes on and off with the main interior light when the driver's door is opened.

Maybe its optioned out in some trim/configuration on the 540, but I dont have Merino Leather on my 2020 M550 and the M550 door sill logo lights up every time I open the door.
