Adding a phone number?

Probably an easy one for you guys but does anyone know how to add a favorite phone number to one of the 9 buttons on the dash? I tried holding the button on someone’s name in phone book and it said unable to save. Thanks

Have you tried doing it while selecting the phone number?

This definitely does not work with CarPlay - if only Verizon allowed NumberShare on any device I would get the most compatible android and let it live inside the car for all of the native iDrive functionality that is otherwise missing for iPhone...but it seems stupid that in today's day/time that they can't just get all the tech to work well together.

You can't save them in CarPlay mode. I switched my iPhone to iDrive instead of CarPlay, saved the numbers to the buttons that I wanted, and then switched it back to CarPlay. Works like a champ.

Thanks. This may be a very dumb question but how do you change back to office from CarPlay?

Just back up one menu and click Idrive instead of Apple car play. Agree - it just pulled my entire contacts list from each of our phones and syncs to my key - same for wife for hers. Pretty click. Apple play - not so impressed thus far.
