Ever since I've had my BMW, I've wondered what all the colors mean on the maps.

When I'm driving on the freeway for example, the road I'm on has 4 colors all as lines along the road, they're green, red, orange, and red (in that order). Other side roads are red or yellow, or gray.

My theory is that the green indicates that there's not much traffic, but I have no idea what all the other colors are.

Anyone know?

I get what the green and yellow lines mean either side (low and medium traffic), but what are the red and orange line on the same road?

This ^ ^ ^ I've wondered the same myself and cannot figure it out. I always drive with the traffic view/mode/whatever enabled to get the grayscale background and simpler colors. Would love to know why the standard view seems so messy...
