Thinking about blacking out my headlamps, does anyone have any experience with this?? How is it done? Is it a tint? If so what kind?

Also how badly does this effect the headlamps ability to actually light the road?

Also would like to know if it's illegal? (California)
Interested to hear thoughts.

Below is a picture of a car that I would like to mimic for my f90.

This is usually done with tint. Anything beyond light tint will seriously inhibit function, probably get you pulled over constantly, and open the door for a lawsuit if you are ever in an accident.

It does looks great on the right car but a little goes a long way.

I saw a website a few months back that sold headlight tint kits and showed the headlamp function with each level of tint. The difference between even light and medium was profound.
