I have a 1/2013 production date F30 with the CIC navigation. I recently acquired an iDrive controller with the larger knob and touch pad.

I've searched around the forums and found helpful write-ups for retrofitting the entire nav system. I'm not really looking for that though.

I just want to swap out the controller itself. It's fine if the touch pad doesn't work but would be cool if it did. At the very least, I need the buttons and the scrolling function of the knob to work. Is this even possible?

I saw some emulators and wiring to convert from can1 to can2. Is this what I need? Thanks in advance guys. I've also attached a picture of the new controller I got.
