Iphone issues

couldn't find someone having the same issue so maybe i am alone but i have my Iphone and my wife's iphone. When either of us enter the car, it auto connects to Bluetooth like 50% of the time. when it doesnt, i manually connect and it says it cannot connect. anyone else experiencing this or perhaps have a fix?

Try to reboot your phone completly. Had this issue on another car. I dia quick volume up then volume down then held the side key until i see the white apple logo and it fully restarts. then try to get in your car and see if it connects up.

I am having a similar bluetooth issue. 60% of the time it works and connects very quickly. 40% of the time it doesn't connect until I manually connect and disconnect like 5 or 6 times, or more. This happens regularly.

I had this issue once or twice, a hard reboot of idrive fixed it and instantly reconnected the iphone.

Yes. My fix has been to hard reboot the iDrive. Hold the audio volume button on the dash down until the control screen goes black. It should reconnect when the system comes back online.

Great. Just ordered my first iPhone (XS max model) to see if the media interface is any better than a Pixel 2. Should have attempted my wife's iPhone first, but I got antsy!

Only once has not my phone not connected. While the media interface with Android is better than Land Rover, still not up to Honda levels. You'd think the premium brands would have bluetooth interface down pat by now..... But better this I guess than having to complaining about drivetrains, plastic interiors and 19 cup holders....

My fingers are crossed. $50 restocking fee if I decide to return the XS and get the S10. Small cost I guess in the grand scheme of things, but would like to gain text messages, album art and improved library search from Google Play.Definitely no interest in apple music or storing much if anything on my phone. I avoid charging/connecting my phone as much as possible to keep the battery strong.

I switched to using CarPlay all the time, and I haven't had any connection issues in at least a couple weeks. I do disable/enable my Bluetooth on the phone a few times a day, mostly because it seems that when I use my AirPods, after putting them away my text alerts stop chiming on my phone. Resetting Bluetooth fixes it. So that might be helping with reconnection to the iDrive 7 system.

Seriously, sometimes the phone is the cause of issues - Apple software quality has seriously gone downhill the past few years. Excellent hardware, but their software still suffers.

Anyway, just my two cents lately. The known issues of .43? don't keep me up at night, i'm patiently waiting for the first OTA update for iDrive.

This vehicle is the only reason I'm even considering an iPhone. the Pixel 2 has been an incredible device and the next Samsung I expect even better. Baffles me that a simple Bluetooth connection can't be fully seamless like a Honda or Toyota. Even the F150 we had linked with zero issue. Artwork, messages, browsing, you name it.

I did read somewhere else about the need to disconnect Bluetooth and simply connect via Carplay. And has a pairing issue after using my Bluetooth headphones (some generic sport brand for $24 on Amazon). Anxious to play around with the XS Max this weekend.

The problems are mostly related to my iPhone Xs. Whenever CarPlay is laggy or not working properly, I pick up my phone and sure enough its barely responsive/laggy and sometimes hot from the charging pad.

This issue seems like every morning. Why wouldn’t it connect when you click connect to phone!

Mine has started doing this with an iPhone X. Have to manually hit connect a few times, then it does. Never had a problem with my 2008 X5.
