Car starts in DAB every time instead of Favorite stations?

I am quite sure I've seen a similar thread somewhere, but couldn't find it.

Every time I start the car the radio goes to DAB instead of the list of favorite stations, where I leave it. So every time I need to manually cycle through the multimedia list to go to favorites.

Is this the way you guys have it and is there a way to influence that (a setting or coding)?

How is it on your cars, does it stay in favorites?

Mine starts in my favorites unless the Bluetooth crashes and then it reverts to am 570

I think I figured it out. Hit media on the dial. Go to where it gives you the options of Xm, fm, cd, Bluetooth, and presets. Highlight PRESET and click it. DO NOT hit back but instead hit map on the control. That should leave it in preset..

I guess you mean the iDrive controller?
What if you use the steering wheel control (which I normally do to manage multimedia)?

Just when I thought I had it. Started the car today and right back to all channels on XM instead of my presets. But yes I meant the idrive controller lol

Don't get it. Why is that?
When was the last SW Update you got or when is your car made?
Is it a SW-bug, is it a malfunction, is it wrong coding...?

Mine does this too. Sometimes it starts in presets, other times it starts in satellite. It seemingly never starts the same way twice in a row. Yup....kinda annoying. Shoot, my 2011 Ford Escape had better infotainment and voice recognition than my 2009 328i that would never understand a word I said, and my 2016 328i would occasionally lose all of the radio programming.

Sometimes I think German engineers just want us to drive the freakin car and not mess with pesky things like stereos!
