Should I use official all weather floor mat

I recently purchased a 530e and the dealer wants me to buy the original bmw floor mats. Does anyone have pics of what that looks like and does it provide sufficient protection. I live in a tropical country and I need protection from rain / mud . Does this cover the transmission bump?.

It definitely does not cover the transmission bump you can go with the all weather tech version that will cover the transmission bump in the back

Buy the BMW floor liners instead. They look almost identical and are still rubber (not hard ABS plastic), but have higher sidewalls. Same price. I have them in the front & rear as well as the cargo mat. They are awesome. And cheaper if you order them directly from BMW USA than from your dealer even though they will appear to be shipped from your dealer. You want the floor liners. Trust me.

FYI, the prices are same online as it is for dealer cost which is why they mark everything up so much.

It does not. It is 4 individual mats just like the factory carpeted ones. I'll take some pictures shortly.

I have OEM in front and the WeatherTech in back. I went with the WeatherTech in back because it is one piece and covers the hump. Only issue was that the floor mounts weren't shipped with my mats. WeatherTech hooked me up and sent me the four I needed for free once I called customer service.

I ordered the trunk liner as well but it doesn't allow you to drop the floor down on the 530e so I returned it.

Not sure what you decided on, or if you have but I was cleaning my mats today and thought I'd share some photos for you. The OEM all weather mats as you can see do provide quite a bit of protection as do the weather tech rear mats.

I can't figure out how to reorder the photos so forgive me for that.
  1. First photo is the rear weather tech mat, you can see it's pretty deep, uses a hook to hold it in place, and is softer and way more pliable than the OEM mats.
  2. Second photo is obviously the OEM mat.
  3. In the third photo you can see how far up the OEM mat protects and that is uses the existing velcro to secure it in place.
  4. In the last photo you can see the protection of the hump. It's one continuous mat.

Its so good to know that Weather Tech covers the hump.

I currently have the OEM BMW liners on the F10 and they do not cover the hump.

I will go with WeatherTech on the G30

Also, what BMW is now calling "Floor Liners" are just all weather floormats. WeatherTech Tubs will clearly offer much more protection.

Yes, having kids it's nice to know the hump is protected.

There is the all weather floor mat and floor liner (both OEM) other than not cover the hump the bmw floor liner does cover decently (it has a higher side wall vs the all weather floor mat)

Though the all weather tech one with the hump covered obviously cover the most

I had weathertech in my old car. The factory ones look pretty close.
