B&W speakers in rear doors no sound
Anyone else have this? No sound at all comes out of the rear door speakers; when you turn the F/R fader all the way back all I can hear is the center rear speaker.
Without the fader you can't really tell from the front seats, it's only really obvious to people sitting in the back. Sometimes I can get them back by hitting the "reset" option in the B&W menu. But they don't last for long. I'm guessing there must be a short somewhere and the amp is turning off the channel. I'm going to take it in but just wondered if anyone else had this problem. |

Not 100% sure about what I'm saying but I believe there was a thread concerning this issue. The back would only work when logic 7 was selected.
Again it's been a while since I've read that thread |

https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1552174 Looks like it was referring to a HK system and satellite specifically. There's no "Logic 7" on the B&W. |

I never really paid that close attention to it, but after reading this tread I tested mine out.
I have B&W and can confirm that no sound comes out of the rear doors. Only mid range sound from the back deck. If Logic 7 is a HK proprietary thing what is causing this with B&W? |

Maybe it depends if anyone is actually sitting back there?? That would be crazy, wouldn't it? I'm not near my car to try this out at the moment though.
Also try hitting the 'Reset' option, that worked a couple times for me to get sound back there, though it didn't stay for long. Otherwise I would doubt they were actually wired up. |

The Rear Doors are part of the "front" side of the fader. Because of the surround functions of the system the back passengers are treated the same as front.
If you fade to the rear you are fading to the rear deck not doors. This may be of interest as a side topic: https://www.whathifi.com/features/bo...-series-review Last edited by RobRed; 01-30-2019 at 02:16 PM.. |

I experimented and it turns out it's simply that in Studio (the default mode) no sound goes to those rear door speakers, ever. If you change to, say, Lounge then it does.
The fader all the way to the rear also cuts them out, in any mode. |

If the fader is centered I get sound out of all speakers - all modes. Are you getting tricked by the psychoacoustics of the DSP in Studio mode? Each mode has very different channel dispersion.
