12V Accessory Port

Has anybody been trickle charging their X3 in this cold? On my 550 I use the one in the trunk, works great. I tried the accessory port in the cargo space of the X3, but discovered it is switched. Are there any always live ports on the F25 X3??

No, there are no always-live accessory ports in the F25. Most who trickle charge seem to do so using the jumper terminals in the engine compartment.

Yep, I use the spots near the left strut tower as well. Haven't found anything else. It's a bit of a pain to pop the hood every time but oh well. Eventually hope to fab a lead long enough to grab through the grill perhaps but haven't gotten to it yet. If you try that route, make sure you can put a cap on it.

4 Year old 2015 that lives outside - East Coast Canada. Reported battery discharged for the first time, never trickle charged.

Tried using a Noco Genius 3500 with under-hood quick connects and a 10ft long extension lead. The Noco wires on that charger range are crap and the charger did not play well with this vehicle....although its fine doing its thing with the vehicle that lives in the garage.

Tried the more robust and capable NOCO mini 1 and it charged the X3 in no time...The wires are also way more robust.

Still have to tidy up the mains lead which is currently neatly tucked away. Although I could fully shut the hood when connected to mains, on an OK routing, I don't. Only used it once....it will be useful for when we take winter trips...and I can turn on and off via Smartthings...

Just an FYI that backs-up what has been mentioned above...BMW instructs to trickle charge using the jump start terminals located in the engine bay. If an owner doesn't know where those are...refer to your owners manual:
