Speaker wire location.
I'm putting in a simple Class D amp and sub in the rear cargo area. I have the standard stereo and am looking for places I can tap into the rear door speaker wires so I can feed the the amp. I've had the door cards off and know the wire colors I'm looking for but can't find an easy place to tap into. I suspected maybe the door sills but no luck.
Thanks in advance! |

Can't help with the X3, haven't had mine apart that far. But with my 1-Series I got a harness from Technics (a member here, if that isn't the name it's very close). It went between the factory amp and wiring harness for it, and gave some additional leads to use. It was nice to have plug & play in case I wanted to put the car back to stock someday.
If that gives an idea to go with... |

Ok dumb question. I believe I have the standard sound system. Does the standard sound system have the under seat subwoofers? I can see what looks like a metal speaker grate but when I turn the bass up (stand back!) I can't really feel anything coming from these grates.

Thank you again!
It shows that I have S676- HiFi System. So I'll assume that those are subs under the seat. I will order the harness and just coax back to the cargo tray and hook up the sub. Your help is much appreciated! |
