Storing summer tires in winter

So based on my research summer tires should not be stored in temperatures below 20 degrees F. Where do you store your summer tires?

What's the reason to not store tires below 20 degs
Apparently they will freeze and the compound could harden and crack.

Garage List
Remove mine, thoroughly clean them, put on a new coat of GTechniq Ceramic, put them in OEM Tire covers with felts, & store in heated garage
