Angry Fuel Injector Failure after 4 days

I just picked up my new 2019 M5 Comp. on Monday. After about 80 miles of driving, the drive train failure light popped up. The engine was rough at idle and in park as well as under power.

Limped it to the dealer and they took a look at it.

Apparently cylinder 4's fuel injector is shot.

I'm not real happy for obvious reasons - does anyone have a similar experience?

I'm on the fence for pushing for a replacement vehicle.

Thoughts, wisdom and advice is welcome!

Thanks!

Things fail. I think pushing for a replacement is a little extreme. In other words shit happens. What's important is how they deal with it.

I agree that a replacement vehicle is probably a bit extreme at this point. Hopefully they give you a nice loaner vehicle and fix it right away.

I would ask them to throw in a little M swag though.

Car is under warranty and I wouldn't worry to much.
No car is bulletproof!!!

Could you share the code and error message?

Thanks for the comments! I've not had any fuel injectors go bad so I don't know much about the potential effects later on which was my concern.

Shoudn't have any adverse effects I wouldn't have thought - its just one of those things. Anything mechanical can break... As a previous poster said, it is how your garage deals with it that is most important.

Could be damage from past leaks and someone subsequently replaced the tank and cleaned up the evidence before selling the car.

Something similar happened to me.
Had to replace all injectors, and coils and LPFP on the driver side.
All warrantied.
Back to normal
