Is it legal/possible to put carseat at the back of the 2?
I know it will be a huge pain given how small the car is but as a last resort, if I HAVE to do it once in a while, is it even possible to put a car seat at the back? And is it legal to do so (here in Canada)?

I did alot of exterior cosmetic to my 2019 F23, but the best one is being able to ride out with my little ones with it. Got a convertible car seat in my convertible along with a booster.

It is actually recommended to use the LATCH system in the two rear seats on the 2-series, as opposed to using the front passenger seat. It is no smaller in the back than many compact cars. As the LATCH system is fully certified in Canada up to 30kg for combined seat and child, it is best to use it, then switch to holding the seat with the seat belt if the weight is higher than that, as specified by Transport Canada.

I'm fairly confident the car seat will fit back there. The challenge will be getting it in and out. Without a rear door you'll be lifting the car seat at an awkward angle which may be difficult.

I had front facing car seats (2) for several years in both my 1-series and my 2-series. No problem.

Front facing, no problem at all and access is easy enough with a seat folded forward. Rear facing may depend on how tall you are / how far back you put the front seats, and access would be challenging.
The car does have two latches at the bottom and one up top on each side in the back, so it should be completely legal and safe. Heck, I even leave the car seats in the car when I go to the track (I did however have to take the kids out).

I do take my kids in my convertible every now and then. The front facing booster for my eldest is easy, but it is tough to get my younger one in and out of the rear facing seat unless I put the top down (in which case it is very easy). I typically go in the back seat from other side with him and get him in there. I am 6'3 with long legs, so if I have both kids and my older one is behind me, she has to sit cross-legged on the booster since there isn't enough room for her to hang her legs down behind the driver's seat. She loves driving with the top down so doesn't complain, but I have only taken both a couple of times.
