235 40 18 & 255 35 18

Is it a bad idea to put 235's in the fronts and 255 in the back? The stock set up is 225/45 & 255/35. Will it affect the ride?

I don't think the stock is 225/45 in front, but 225/40. I may mess up your traction control (traction light comes on) due to the different diameters b/w front and rear wheels. Why would you want 235 in front anyway? the stock is perfectly fine.

235 would be fine up front. Just make sure you are not reducing the circumfrance of the tire. The configurator at the top of this page would help you.

Traction control does not work on front tires on the 330i, only on the powered wheels. BTW, I run 255's in front (275 in back), and am going to try 275's (all the way around) on my autox setup.

That's what I tried to say "different diameters b/w front and rear wheels". You can run 955 or whatever, but keep the diameters the same.
And yes, you will see the traction control light warning when you run different wheel diameters in front and rear.

Ooops...I made mistake! The tires are 235/40 not 235/45. I think I'm going to try the 235. Looks like it won't affect the ride. Thanks!

Wow, 255 and 275, very beefy! Did you have to roll your fenders, did you have any rubbing? Do you have pics of the car? I would love to see how they look.

Don't do 235 and 255, the overall wheel diameter will be different in front from the back. If you want a beefier look, go with 235 and 265. That will make the diameters the same.
